Horien Biotech (7814) officially listed on the OTC
market today (July 16th), having transitioned from the Emerging Stock Market to
the OTC Market. The company stated that benefiting from growing demand in the
US, Taiwan, and overseas markets, its June revenue more than doubled
year-on-year. Meanwhile, its overseas market expansion and new product
development continue to advance. Recently, it obtained market access permits
for high-risk medical devices in Thailand and is actively expanding into
Southeast Asia and Europe. Coupled with the development of new products such as
biodegradable catheter stents and collagen regeneration patches, this adds
growth momentum to future operations. Horien Biotech's June revenue was NT$15
million, a 229.23% increase month-on-month and a 209.29% increase year-on-year.
Second-quarter revenue was NT$25 million, a 3.95% increase quarter-on-quarter
and a 50.58% increase year-on-year. First-half revenue was NT$48 million, a
55.78% increase year-on-year.
Horien Biotech stated that its overseas expansion
continues to progress. In early July, it obtained three Class 4 high-risk
medical device market access permits in Thailand, successfully entering the
ASEAN high-end medical device market. Related Class 3 medical device licenses
in the Philippines and Vietnam are also expected to be obtained soon. In
addition, the company's bio-ink products are planned for official export to the
European market by the end of this year, extending its operations from Asia to the
European and American markets.
Regarding new products, Horien Biotech's
independently developed biodegradable ureteral stent has obtained a Taiwanese
invention patent, with patents in the US, Europe, and China to follow. The
product has completed sample development and entered the animal testing phase.
The company points out that no similar product globally has yet obtained
medical device certification. This product eliminates the clinical pain point
of requiring a second surgery to remove traditional ureteral stents, targeting
the multi-billion dollar medical device market. Another new product, collagen
regeneration patches, is developed using the company's advanced
decellularization technology and is mainly used for surgical and orthopedic
tissue repair. It has entered the production line trial stage and is expected
to become an important growth driver for the medium- to long-term product line.
To secure the supply of raw materials for high-end
medical devices, Horien Biotechnology's subsidiary, Shengli Biotechnology, has
signed memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements with Taiwan
Sugar Corporation and Taiwan Livestock Corporation to establish a medical-grade
raw material supply chain that complies with ISO 13485 medical device quality
management system and ISO 22442 animal tissue medical device risk management
standards, strengthening its integrated supply chain from raw materials to
finished products.
Looking ahead, Horien Biotechnology Chairman Tsai
Kuo-Tien (pictured, first from left) stated that the company's listing on the
OTC market is a significant milestone. Moving forward, the company will
continue to deepen its existing markets in dentistry and surgery, while
accelerating its development of high-end medical devices and innovative
products. As medical device certifications are obtained in various countries
and new products gradually enter the harvest stage, the company expects to
increase its global market penetration, continuously driving its operational
growth.
